Spring is coming, and with the spring come the winter babies, future mothers see their bellies getting rounder and anyone can see excitement on fathers' faces. I was chatting with one of those future fathers recently and I realized that most people do not know anything about indoor air pollution. So let's start from basics and play the Spot the difference game! What are the differences between indoor and outdoor?

Indoors radicals like the element radon are emmited from concrete walls and accumlate indoors if there is no air exchange. Also the oxygen level goes down the more people are in the office (or house) and the less plants there are. Many people working in a Hongkong office are tired due to lack of oxygen. Most offices in sky scrapers are hermitcally sealed towards the outside with air conditioners but no "fresh air" exchange. At least Mainland Chinese like open windows (even in taxis in winter in Beijing). So if the outdoor polution goes down - then opening windows will help to reduce the indoor pollution. Untill then we have to use more air purifiers.

Do air purifiers help increase indoor oxygen levels?
